Swinton appoint new assistant coach

Swinton have appointed Allan Coleman as the club’s new assistant coach for 2019.

Coleman joins the coaching staff at the Lions following the departure of Tommy Gallagher.

The 40-year-old has most recently been in charge of England Community Lions, a role which he will continue in, having previously guided Leigh Miners Rangers to their first NCL Grand Final title in 2015.

On the appointment of Coleman, Swinton coach Stuart Littler said: “I am very excited to be able to announce that Allan Coleman has agreed to come on board as assistant coach and will be massive for our group moving forwards.

“Allan is renowned in the amateur game and has a coaching record second to none. Allan was coach of the all-conquering treble-winning Leigh Miners Rangers team whilst also being previously involved with the reserves at Leigh Centurions.

“Allan has an infectious enthusiasm for the game and from everything I have seen, he knows how to get the players to buy-in. This year is all about good people striving to take this great club forward and Allan certainly fits into that mould.

“I am really excited about the new season and as a club, I feel we are ready to take a step forward. Allan has bought into what we are about, and I am sure he can add a lot of value within that journey.”

Coleman will link up with the Lions immediately in preparation for the 2019 season.
