Wakefield announce Jacob Miller as new captain
Jacob Miller will be Wakefield’s captain in 2019, with Danny Brough as vice-captain.
Miller takes over the captaincy role from Danny Kirmond, who will remain club captain next year.
Brough, who recently joined Trinity from Huddersfield Giants, will be Miller’s right-hand man.
On being the new Wakefield skipper, Miller said: “I am very privileged and honoured to captain this club.
“When I joined this club four years ago, I never thought I would be captain but I was over the moon when Chezzy [Chris Chester] told me in the break that I was going to be captain.
“I kind of did my apprenticeship as captain while Kirmo [Danny Kirmond] was out last season, but he will always be the captain and the leader of this team. He is an influential player on and off the field that this team needs. I’ll do my bit on the field where I can but Kirmo will be the leader of this club.
“Danny has got a lot of experience behind him and I will be looking to pick his brains because I want to learn as much as I can from him so I can improve my game.”

Miller is excited by Wakefield’s chances next season and is raring to go.
He added: “We have got a very good squad this year.
“We have had a couple of good additions to what was already a good squad, so there is a lot of excitement around the team and hopefully the fans can get on board this year.”
