Super League round-up: Trio continue unbeaten run, Salford perform comeback, Hull FC end winless streak

History was made in round three as Super League had its first game that went into golden point extra-time.

St Helens came from being behind to claim a 27-22 victory against a dogged Leeds Rhinos side at the Totally Wicked Stadium and maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

Theo Fages, Jonny Lomax, Alex Walmsley (2) and Luke Thompson scored for Saints.

Marc Sneyd’s drop-goal in golden point extra-time handed Hull FC their first win in 14 games as they won 23-22 at Wigan Warriors.

Carlos Tuimavave, Joe Westerman and Ratu Naulago (2) scored Hull’s tries, while Gareth Ellis laced up his boots again after retiring at the end of the 2017 season.

Danny Brough marked the 500th appearance of his career as he helped Wakefield Trinity to their first win of the season as they beat Catalans Dragons 22-12 at the Mobile Rocket Stadium.

Tom Johnstone, David Fifita and James Batchelor crossed the whitewash for Trinity.

Warrington Wolves made it three wins out of three in 2019 with a comfortable 32-20 victory against Huddersfield Giants at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Ryan Atkins (2), Josh Charnley (2) and Blake Austin scored for the Wolves.

Salford Red Devils produced a second half comeback to beat Hull Kingston Rovers 24-22 at the KCOM Craven Park.

The Red Devils were 22-8 down at the break, but unanswered tries from Derrell Olpherts, Ken Sio and Joey Lussick saw Ian Watson’s side take the spoils.

Castleford Tigers ran in seven tries as they thrashed newly-promoted London Broncos 40-6 at Ealing Trailfinders.

Peter Mata’utia, Jake Trueman, Junior Moors, Jesse Sene-Lefao, Liam Watts, Greg Eden and Jordan Rankin all went over for the Tigers.

Castleford, Warrington, St Helens and Salford all sit joint top of the Super League table on six points.
