Wigan first-team player charged with drink-driving
Wigan youngster Craig Mullen has been charged with drink-driving.
The 21-year-old was arrested on Sunday for driving when over the alcohol limit.
A former England Academy international, Mullen made his debut for his hometown club on the wing last year in a 32-16 defeat at Wakefield Trinity.
A statement from the Warriors read: “The club has confirmed that they are aware of an incident involving Craig Mullen on Sunday evening which has seen the player charged for driving with excess alcohol.
“The player is co-operating with the police investigation.
“Wigan Warriors will allow the legal process to take its course and the club will be making no further comment at this time.”
Mullen, who was promoted to Wigan’s first-team from the academy in 2017, has made two Super League appearances for the Warriors.
