Carl Ablett ruled out for up to six weeks
Leeds forward Carl Ablett has been ruled out for up to six weeks after having surgery on an ankle injury.
The 33-year-old was due to return to action two weeks ago against Hull FC but has been unable to train fully for the last fortnight,
Ablett has undergone minor surgery on his ankle injury and will be out for four to six weeks.
Rhinos coach Dave Furner said: “It is really disappointing for Carl because physically, he is in great shape but he has not been able to get back to full out running with the team.
“The surgeon is confident that the problem has been sorted now and hopefully he will be able to return as soon as possible once he is back running.
“It will be great to add his experience to our group when he is back available.”
Furner confirmed that Adam Cuthbertson could be available for next week’s trip to Hull KR, and the club are awaiting reports from a specialist to find out when prop Dom Crosby will be cleared to return to action.
