Castleford youngster signs new two-year deal

Castleford have announced that 18-year-old Lewis Peachey has signed a two-year contract extension. 

The England and Yorkshire Academy forward made his Super League debut in the Tigers’ Easter Monday defeat to Catalans and has been touted as one of the best young prospects in the English game.

The new deal will see Peachey remain at the Mend-a-Hose Jungle until at least the end of the 2021 season.

On the extension, Castleford Head Coach Daryl Powell said:“I’m absolutely delighted that Lewis has committed the next two years of his future to our club having recently made his debut for us.

“He has a rich future and is so committed in his pursuit of becoming  an elite professional rugby league player that I am completely confident that he will be a fantastic player for the Castleford Tigers in the future.”

Director of Rugby Jon Wells added: “We are really pleased for Lewis today. He is a fantastic young man with all the attributes to become a regular Super League player for the Castleford Tigers.

“He is a young prop who we will not see the best of for some time – but if the way he has handled himself in the first team environment is any guide then we have a future star on our hands.”
