Widnes star facing lengthy ban for abusing match official
Widnes utility Jack Owens is facing a three to five match ban for foul and abusive language towards a match official.
The 24-year-old was sent off in Friday’s defeat at Wakefield in the Challenge Cup sixth round for abusive language language towards a touch judge.
Owens faces a ban of between three and five games after being charged with a Grade D offence of using foul and abusive language to a match official.
The case has been been referred to a tribunal.
Owens will miss the Vikings’ upcoming games against Leigh, York and Barrow. He could even be suspended for their clashes with Featherstone and Batley.
