Sheffield dismiss reports of players and staff not being paid on time
Sheffield have confirmed that all of their players and staff were paid on time after rumours circulated on social media suggesting players of one unnamed club hadn’t received their latest wages.
Featherstone star Dane Chisholm took to social media yesterday to admit that he was forced to lend money to fellow players who hadn’t been paid on time.
Lending money to mates because they haven’t been paid and have bills to pay. Won’t mention what club. It’s not right… one job, pay your players !!! ?

Although Chisholm didn’t specifically name any side, Sheffield, who currently lie sixth in the Betfred Championship, released a statement on social media earlier today to confirm their financial situation.
It read: “The club can confirm all our players and staff were paid on time, on Friday 28th June as per contractual agreements.
“Rumours on social media regarding a club’s non/late payments of salaries are not related to Sheffield Eagles RLFC.”
