Twitter Talk: Opinion split over Championship Grand Final venue
Uncertainty over the venue for the Championship Grand Final has split opinion on social media this afternoon.
A report in League Express this morning suggested that clubs were unhappy that the Grand Final could be played in Toronto, should the Wolfpack make it.
Despite the venue never having been announced either way, it would appear that it is due to be played at the home of the highest ranked club, rather than at a neutral venue as per previous Championship Grand Finals.
What do you think?
I'd love to see the #RugbyLeague Grand Finals day back at Headingley, but this season it should go to Toronto if the Wolfpack make it there first. The atmosphere would be class.

Lansdowne Stadium in Ottawa holds 24,000. Neutral venue. Yet perhaps some of those calling for a neutral venue might not like this idea, as it's too far for an English or French team to come and thus not really neutral, much in the same way an English ground is to Toronto.

Like changing the whole structure outside of SL last year. League 1 clubs losing 3 home games when next years budgets already set and new contracts signed. Then adding a new cup comp as season about to start, which would also result in most Leagur 1 clubs losing money

I don't have a problem with the team that's finished top being at home when they've earned it all season. That isn't an integrity issue but changing the rules after the season has started is.

Seriously James. Who is suggesting it isn’t? Is there any confirmation that following the decision to implement a 5 team play off, the final would definitely be at the home of the highest ranked qualifying team?

This season the first team to qualify for the grand final should have home advantage as was agreed prior to the season starting.
IMO from next season the championship grand final should be held at a pre determined neutral venue & marketed as an event.— Matthew Clough (@fieldheadrhino1) July 8, 2019
No it's not, when championship have used the top 5 system the grand final has always been at a neutral venue, only when it moved to super 8's did it become home team advantage. Leigh played finals at Leeds and Widnes and Warrington also been used under the top 5 system.

So let’s get this straight
The RFL might have a neutral venue for the Championship Grand Final as it might be unfair to clubs going to Toronto?!
Who the fuck is running our sport?! Sooty & Sweep?!
You can’t change the end of season structure less than 4 months to go ?♂️?♂️

The championship grand final has always been at a neutral venue Steve

The farce around the Championship Grand Final with just 4 months to go is a complete disgrace from the RFL
Changing the venue to a “neutral” venue rather than the highest qualifier is a farce just because it could be held in Toronto
The RFL are not fit for purpose
