Saints hungry for the treble, says Kyle Amor

Kyle Amor says St Helens are focused on winning a treble of trophies after reaching their first Challenge Cup final in more than a decade.

It is hard to believe that it’s 2008 since Saints last won the famous old trophy, which was their third in a row having also won it in 2006 and 2007.

They appeared in eight of the 13 finals from the start of the Super League era, winning on seven occasions.

Saints can now move level with Leeds with 13 Challenge Cup wins if they beat Warrington in the final at Wembley later this month.

Amor said: “James Roby mentioned it a while back that we won it in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and at the time if someone told you wouldn’t win it in 11 years they’d have laughed.

“They don’t come around very often and I’ve been chasing this game for all of my career and it’s the piece I’m missing really, and for a lot of us.”

Amor only made his first team debut in 2009, for Whitehaven, and was part of the Saints team that won the 2014 Super League Grand Final.

He added: “We’ve had some great encounters with Warrington already this season, so first against second, that’s the final people wanted. I hope everyone gets behind it and makes it a great spectacle for the game.

“I feel I’m playing OK now so hopefully I can keep my place and get that Wembley final that I’ve dreamed of.

“We want to wrap up that League Leaders shield and there’s another trophy for us. We’re a very hungry and determined group and we’re going to try our best to win all three.”

Saints host Wakefield in Super League on Friday night.
