Thomas Minns released by Hull KR
Hull KR have released centre Thomas Minns by mutual consent.
The 24-year-old penned a deal until the end of 2019 in May on his return to the club following a drugs ban. However, he injured his foot in training before playing a game on his comeback.
He was expected to be sidelined for the rest of this month but both parties have ended on good terms.
Minns said: “I’d like to say how welcoming the fans were on my return and I want to thank each and every one of them.
“It was a mutual decision to part ways and we leave on really good terms. There’s no hard feelings about it – we just came to an agreement.
“Tony [Smith] needed to see me play and with where we’re sitting at the moment, would you risk playing a player who hadn’t played in a long time in a period which could define the club? I don’t know, so there’s no hard feelings there either.
“I was gutted when I sustained that injury, but I can’t do anything about it. I’m just glad I got the opportunity to be back at Hull KR.”
