The NRL integrity unit have launched an investigation into racist online abuse of Sydney Roosters star Latrell Mitchell.

A proud Indigenous All Stars representative, Mitchell was a victim of racial abuse over social media on the weekend.

The vile social media comment is currently being investigated by the NRL integrity unit, with Mitchell gaining plenty of support across the rugby league community.

NRL chief executive, Todd Greenberg, commented: “Racism must be called out in all its forms because the standard you walk past is the standard you accept.

“I commend Latrell for doing just that. These comments are disgusting and have no place in our game.

“There is no place for any sort of abuse on social media towards our players or their families.”
