Halifax have signed winger Jodie Broughton from Catalans for the 2020 season.

The 31-year-old has spent 11 years in Super League for Hull FC, Salford, Huddersfield and Catalans.

Fax coach Simon Grix said: “He definitely brings Super League experience.

“He’s played a lot of games and been very consistent in his time, he’s a big unit that brings pace at the same time and that’ll be a valuable asset to us.

“I’m looking forward to him joining and getting him down, he’s hungry to get back out there after having an unlucky injury but Jodie is keen to make up for that lost time and make an impact for us.”

Broughton added: “I was really impressed with the ambition of the club.

“They’re trying to build something special and after watching things like the Challenge Cup semi-final, I knew I wanted to be a part of that.

“I get along really well with some of the guys there already, so fitting in shouldn’t be a problem, I’m looking forward to helping this team push for a top five finish in 2020.”
