Championship star Pat Walker to retire at season’s end
Sheffield playmaker Pat Walker will hang up his boots at the end of the campaign.
The 33-year-old has made 276 career appearances for Dewsbury, Batley and Sheffield, scoring 51 tries and kicking 708 goals.
Walker helped the Eagles win the inaugural 1895 Cup final at Wembley last month.
He said: “I can’t express how lucky I have been to play alongside the lads I’ve been lucky enough to play with and the teams I’ve been involved with.
“I’ve got some lifelong friends and some special moments in my career that cannot be taken away like Grand Finals, top four finishes and being a winning finalist at Wembley.
“Thanks to my family for taking me everywhere as a kid and to my wife for following me across the country to pursue my dream of playing professional rugby league.
“It’s been an awesome journey and something I will definitely bore my kids with stories about as they get older. It’s been a pleasure.”
