Rikki Sheriffe appointed Halifax assistant coach
Halifax have announced that former player Rikki Sheriffe has been appointed as the club’s assistant coach.
The 35-year-old scored 51 tries in 81 appearances for Fax between 2003-05. He then went on to play for York, Harlequins, Doncaster, Bradford and Keighley.
Halifax coach Simon Grix said: “Rikki knows the club and obviously having played together here many years ago we have been friends a long time.
“He brings a wealth of playing experience having played top level league and union, in addition to coaching experience from recent years in League 1 with Keighley and over at Dewsbury this last year.
“We have a similar outlook on the game and how we wish to be perceived as an outfit. He will provide me with a day-to-day sounding board – a devil’s advocate if you like.
“This, along with other coaching mentors, will challenge and develop my coaching abilities as we all strive to improve.”
