Workington retain Danny Tickle

Workington Town have announced the re-signing of experienced forward Danny Tickle for the 2020 League One season. 

The former England international joined Workington last season having already made over 400 career appearances, which included big stints at Wigan Warriors and Hull FC.

Tickle, 36, made 24 appearances in 2019,scoring four tries and helped guide the side to the League 1 play-offs.

“Ticks [Tickle] really is the model professional.,” said head coach Chris Thorman.

“He was outstanding as soon as I arrived midway through last season, setting the standard in everything good the team did.

“He has great standards in everything he does, both on and off the field.

“One of our most experienced and respected members of the squad, who I’ll be looking at to lead from the front.

“We made sure that Danny was signed on for next season very early on, as he still has so much to offer.

“I’m very pleased we’ve managed to retain his services.”
