Whitehaven duo sign contract extensions
Whitehaven playmakers Callum Phillips and Sam Forrester have signed two-year deals with the Championship club.
Hooker or half-back Phillips has scored 22 tries in 49 appearances for Haven over the last two seasons. He has earned seven caps for Scotland on the international stage.
Half-back or full-back Forrester impressed alongside Phillips in the halves last term, scoring 13 tries in 21 games.
Whitehaven coach Gary Charlton said: “They are two good lads and its great to see them both sign for two years.
“Callum is vice-captain, he is part of the leadership group and an integral part of the team. He’s great at scrum-half or hooker and brings a lot of enthusiasm to the side and to the dressing room.
“Sam played out of position last season at half-back but he did an excellent job for us. He’s a good organiser and he was good at moving us around the field.”
