Jarrod Sammut confirms he is leaving Wigan
Wigan half-back Jarrod Sammut has confirmed that he is set to leave the club.
The 32-year-old joined the Warriors on a two-year contract ahead of last season but is set to depart with a year left to run on his deal.
Sammut made 14 appearances for Adrian Lam’s side last season, with eight of those coming from the bench.
And with Wigan having signed Man of Steel Jackson Hastings ahead 2020, Sammut’s chances of first-team action look slim.
Hastings and Tommy Leuluai are expected to start in the halves for the Warriors next season, with Sam Powell at hooker.
Young playmakers Jake Shorrocks and Harry Smith will be pushing for spots in the side, while Josh Woods is set to join hometown club Leigh on a permanent basis.
A Malta international, Sammut has been linked with a raft of clubs so far over the off-season, with Featherstone, Batley, London and Leigh being mentioned as potential destinations.
Sammut tweeted: “Well… back on my bike! Where next?”
Well.. back on me ??♂️! Where next???♂️
