Callum McLelland named Scotland Player of the Year
Leeds youngster Callum McLelland has been named Scotland’s Player of the Year for 2019.
The 20-year-old, who has made three first-team appearances for the Rhinos, made a try scoring debut for Scotland and was a standout player in their test matches against Serbia and Greece in the autumn.
McLelland received the Dave Valentine Award after helping the Bravehearts qualify for the 2021 World Cup.
Scotland head coach Nathan Graham said: “I am really pleased that Callum has won the award, he was an absolute pleasure to coach and was great around the group and settled in well making his debut.
“His performances speak for themselves. For a young player making his debut he was outstanding and showed great experience. I can’t wait to work with him again.”
