Twitter Talk: Fans discuss Shaun Wane’s appointment as England boss
Fans have had their say on whether England made the right decision by appointing Shaun Wane as new Head Coach of the national team.
The former Wigan boss replaces Australian Wayne Bennett, who served in the role for four years.
He has agreed a two-year deal and his first game in charge is set to be in a proposed mid-season international in June.
The 55-year-old had been working part-time as a High Performance Coach with Scottish Rugby Union, but will now return to the 13-man code.
Wane steered Wigan to three Super League titles in his seven years as Head Coach. Now, he is tasked with preparing England for their Ashes series with Australia later this year.
Here are how fans and former players reacted on twitter:

Definitely a better option than Bennett and arguably the best English coach about.

Yes. Had the pleasure of spending time in his company (business) last year and I can safely say their is no one more passionate about this gray sport of our. Dedicated beyond belief.

Yes. Mr Bennett had to go and Mr Wane is by far the best available candidate.
You almost wonder whether he took the SRFU job because he thought this vacancy might open up.— Lin Manfu 林满福 (@linmanfu) February 3, 2020
Yes , he now just needs to pick players in their correct position regardless of trying to shoe horn the so called superstars into the team
