Mose Masoe “works on moving fingers” after career-ending injury
Hull KR prop Mose Masoe has posted an update on his recovery from his career-ending spinal injury.
Last month, the 30-year-old left the field in the opening minutes of their pre-season friendly against Wakefield and it was later revealed by Robins coach Tony Smith that “it would be a success” if Masoe could walk again.
Masoe has posted a picture on instagram of him smiling with his kids from his hospital bed at Pinderfields Spinal Centre in Leeds.
His wife Carissa wrote on his Instagram: “Hey friends it’s Carissa again! Mose just has a little something he would like to post whilst we work on some finger movements to get him back doing it himself.
“Quick update: It’s been exactly four weeks post accident and in that time I’ve taken a lot of small steps in the right direction. Got some movement in the arms and a couple of flickers in my legs.
“I still have two-and-a-half weeks of flat bad rest until I can hopefully sit up and be in a wheelchair which is what I’m really looking forward to!
“The staff (nurses, physios, doctors) here at Pinderfields are awesome and making my rehab a really positive experience. I’m forever grateful for everyone’s support near and far. Hopefully my next post I’ll be in a wheelchair causing trouble with my mates in here at Pinderfields spinal.”
Hull KR have raised almost £50,000 to support Masoe and his family. To donate, click here.
