Veteran hooker Tommy Lee has come out of retirement to sign for Championship side Halifax for the rest of the season.

The 32-year-old will held fill the void created by the sudden loss of Keal Carlile, who was forced to retire due to a heart condition.

Lee, who hung up his boots last July, made over 230 appearances in Super League for St Helens, Hull FC, London Broncos, Crusaders, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Salford and Hull KR.

A Halifax spokesperson said: “A spokesman for the Championship club said: “We are delighted to announce the signing of hooker Tommy Lee.”
