Castleford snap up former Hull FC utility
Castleford have signed ex-Hull FC utility Jack Sanderson for the rest of the 2020 season, with the club having an option for next year.
The 21-year-old came through the ranks at Hull FC and his contract with the Black and Whites expired at the end of last year – but he was invited to be part of pre-season with Lee Radford’s outfit.
Sanderson said: “I’m delighted to be here, I’ve come from Hull FC where things didn’t work out but I got an opportunity to come down here and I’m really excited for what the future holds.
“So far I’ve only been here a couple of days and it seems like such a good club to be a part of and I’m looking forward to getting started.
“I’ve done a full pre-season with FC so I’m coming into the club in shape and ready to go straight from the off and I’m buzzing to get some games under my belt as soon as possible.
“I’m versatile in the backs whether it’s on the wing, at full-back or centre, I enjoy playing in all those positions really because they are all different roles within the game.”
Castleford coach Daryl Powell added: “I’m really pleased to add a young, exciting outside back to our squad for the remainder of the season and it gives Jack an opportunity to show us how good he can be.
“I know he’s got a lot of potential and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
