Warrington offer trade for Leutele
Warrington Wolves are so keen to land Toronto Wolfpack centre Ricky Leutele that they are prepared to offer Brian McDermott a choice of four or five players in exchange to bolster his paper-thin, reports League Weekly.
Anthony Gelling could be one of the players offered to Toronto, according to League Weekly. However, it has not been explained how Gelling will be able to get a visa so he can get over to Canada.
Union eye Hastings
Jackson Hastings is set to be offered the chance to become a cross-code star with rugby union club Gloucester, reports League Express.
The Premiership side are keen to talk to the reining Man of Steel about a move to the 15-man game next season, reports League Express.
Pearson faces RFL action
Hull FC owner Adam Pearson is facing action from the Rugby Football League over comments about Catalans’ salary cap management, reports League Weekly.
The Black and Whites chairman has until Tuesday to respond to a letter from the governing body’s compliance department regarding his programme notes ahead of their home match against Catalans, according to League Weekly.
RFL gives advice on coronavirus
The Rugby Football League has sent a detailed document to clubs with advice on the coronavirus, which includes confirmation that they have consulted with Sky Sports about playing games behind closed doors should the virus spread, reports League Express.
Clubs have been encouraged that players change how they greet each other and supporters, reports League Express.
Perez plays down Frayssinous link
Ottawa founder Eric Perez has rejected reports linking former Catalans boss Laurent Frayssinous with the head coaching role, reports League Weekly.
The entrepreneur will outline plans for his new Ottawa club today but he has told League Weekly he “hasn’t even considered a coach yet”.
Charnley wants England return
Josh Charnley says he never gave up hope of an international return after last week being named among the 31 invites to Shaun Wane’s first England get together, reports League Express.
Charnley told League Express: “The way its Shaun (Wane) that’s picked it makes it a bit sweeter, so I’m excited. I never gave up hope.”
