Simon Woolford blasts “unacceptable” Huddersfield performance
Huddersfield coach Simon Woolford was bitterly disappointed with his side’s display in their defeat to Toronto.
The Giants were knocked out of the Challenge Cup by the Wolfpack with an 18-0 scoreline on Wednesday night.
Huddersfield have started the season well in Super League with four wins from their first five games – but they were humbled by Toronto.
Woolford said: “It wasn’t great. There’s not a lot of positives. The signs were there early, from the opening set we didn’t have the same intent.
“We started poor and didn’t recover and the weather came in.
“It was always going to be tough after a big performance at St Helens and a short turnaround.
“But to put in that performance is not acceptable, some things tonight weren’t acceptable because we’ve set high standards over the last six weeks.
“We’re obviously still a long way off where we need to be.”
