Joining Catalans was best experience of my life, says Justin Horo
Justin Horo says he “couldn’t recommend it enough” to other players who have the chance to join Catalans.
The 33-year-old hung up his boots last year after making 204 career appearances in the NRL and Super League.
Horo enjoyed a two-year spell with the Dragons between 2016-17 before finishing his career with Wakefield.
The New Zealander has opened up on his time in Super League, and says moving to France was one of the best moments of his life to date.
Speaking on The Locker Room podcast, Horo said: “It was probably the best experience of my life and I couldn’t recommend it enough to other rugby league players.
“It was less about the footy and more about the travelling and life experiences. Growing up in Western Sydney, I didn’t really do too much travelling because we have only got a six-week window in which can travel (at the end of the season) and that’s in October, and you can’t go to places like Europe and the States because it’s getting colder.
“The experience of heading over there was unreal, I learned a little bit of French to get by.
“It’s a beautiful part of the world to live and I loved the culture and the people. I threw myself into it in the second year and got to know as many people as I could and build up good relationships. I couldn’t recommend it enough.”
