RFL chiefs take pay cuts following season suspension

Senior executives of the RFL have taken pay cuts to ease the financial pressures caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Rugby league has been suspended indefinitely following the government lockdown, with the last games taking place on March 15.

Although there has been no announcement from the RFL, the PA news agency understands that all senior executives and board members, led by chairman Simon Johnson, agreed to a salary reduction more than a week ago.

The RFL and Super League continue to lobby the government for financial assistance.
