South Sydney 22-12 Newcastle

South Sydney got their season back on track with a credible 22-12 win over Newcastle at Bluetongue Stadium.

Down 8-0 at half time from a Aku Uate try, the Rabbitohs jumped back into life with a try from fit-again halfback Craig Wing in the 57th minute.

Fetuli Talanoa grabbed the Bunnies’ next score before Wing got his second score when he went over from dummy-half to register his brace. Another try from Isaac Luke effectivley killed off the game for Souths although James McManus’ try for the Knights closed the gap to 10 points.

Junior Sau crossed for a consolation score for Newcastle although it was far from enough to affect the final result.
