Just days after being denied a visa to join Hull FC in the Super League, test forward Michael Crocker has put all speculation about his future to bed by joining South Sydney on a 3 and-a-half year deal.

The 28-year-old, who has appeared in six tests for Australia and ten State of Origin Matches, will available for the Rabbitohs’ clash against Wests Tigers next weekend.

Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson said Crocker will be a valuable asset to the Club.

He said:“Michael Crocker is a winner and will add starch to our already-strong forward pack.”

“Michael has been training at NRL level since the season finished last year, so he will be fit and available to play next weekend.

“We’re looking forward to seeing Michael in the red and green and I know our Members are as well. He will complement our other players with international experience such as Roy Asotasi, Issac Luke, Craig Wing, David Fa’alogo and David Kidwell with his tough, uncompromising style of play

“To pick up a player of his ability and experience at this time of year is wonderful and we welcome Michael Crocker to our Club.”

Crocker says he is pleased to be able to start playing Rugby League again with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

“I am really happy to have my future sorted out. It has been a long drawn out process and I am looking forward to getting back into a routine and also back onto the field,” Crocker said.

”The Rabbitohs are a club with a proud history and an exciting future. This squad is definitely a title contender. I am looking forward to playing alongside them and learning from Jason Taylor and Gorden Tallis.”
