Whitehaven to wear pink kit for charity
Whitehaven will wear a special one-off pink strip in their televised clash with Barrow on July 16.
The shirts will then be auctioned off afterwards and the club has also revealed that replicas of the kit can be ordered, with all proceeds going to The Henderson Suite (Cancer Unit) at West Cumberland Hospital.
Club spokesman John Flanagan said: “I think the idea to wear the kit for the Barrow match on Sky is excellent, it is a very striking design. Not only will the team stand out on the field, but it shows the club are keen to support the cancer unit at West Cumberland hospital.”
Fans can order the shirts up until June 20 at £40 for adults and £30 for juniors.
Last season, Oldham wore a pink strip for their clash with Doncaster to raise money for the club’s official charities Dr Kershaw’s Hospice and the Genesis Appeal.
