Sykes signs new one-year Bulls deal

Bradford centre Paul Sykes has signed a new one-year deal at the Grattan Stadium.

Sykes, 27, began his career at the Bulls as a junior in 1998 before leaving for London Broncos in 2002 and spending six years in the capital.

He returned to Yorkshire at the start of last season and has scored 23 tries and 19 goals in 46 appearances for the Bulls.

He said: “I always wanted to stay here and am just glad it’s now done and dusted. I’m very pleased. I’ve enjoyed my time at Bradford and I’m settled at this club so it’s great to be able to sign for another year. I’m glad I made the move back up here, I’m happy with my game and how it’s been.”

Head Coach Steve McNamara said: “Paul’s a very valuable member of our squad. His versatility, where he can play a number of positions – full-back, centre and in the halves – plus the fact he is a home-grown player meant it was important we kept him here.  Paul is also someone who continues striving to try and improve his game and we’re delighted he’ll continue being a Bradford Bulls player.”
