Mapals faces fitness test

Keighley winger Lee Mapals, who damaged his knee in the home defeat by Dewsbury Rams, will undergo a fitness test at training tonight (Thursday).

The former York and Doncaster flier missed last week’s away victory at Workington Town and Cougars head coach Barry Eaton wants to check out Mapals’ fitness before finalising his side to play Hornets RL at Spotland Stadium in a crucial Co-operative Championship One fixture on Sunday.

Eaton said: “We want to check on Lee’s fitness and if he is passed fit I would anticipate adding him to the squad of players from whom we’ll select the team to play at Rochdale.”
