Swinton complete double signing

Championship 1 side Swinton have signed former Super League players Ian Watson and Paul Smith for the 2010 season.

Watson, 32, returns to the Lions for a second spell, after leaving the club in 2006 to join Widnes. He has played for Leigh in the past two seasons and has also played at international level for Wales.

Second-rower Smith moves from Halifax where he has spent two seasons following a long spell in the top flight with Huddersfield.

A statement on the Lions’ website read: “Both Players have expressed their delight in signing and look forward to help take the club to another level along with the experienced players already at the club.”
