Halifax re-sign Goddard
Halifax have re-signed Jon Goddard on a contract that will keep the former Hull KR centre at the Shay until the end of 2011.
The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on the two year deal, finally extinguishing persistent gossip linking him with a switch to Fax’s Co-operative Championship rivals Widnes.
“There’s always interest from other clubs, and there have been a few rumours going round about who I had or hadn’t signed for, but as far as I was concerned I was always favouring Halifax,” said Goddard, a close-season signing from Rovers at the end of 2007.
“For me, it is the best team in the Championship and I am really happy to have sorted things out for the next couple of seasons.”
It gives me the security of knowing where I am going to be playing by rugby and I am looking forward to helping the club work towards regaining their place in Super League.”
Fax have also completed the signing of Hull prop Dominic Maloney, who has been on loan at The Shay in recent months.
