Keighley launch young persons pass

Keighley Cougars, one of the most innovative clubs in the Co-operative Championship, have launched a ‘Young Person’s Pass’.

The Pass that will cover young people aged between 16-years-old and 18-years-old who do not hold a current student card.

Helen Carter, the Cougars General Manager, said: “We want to make professional Rugby League accessible to the young people of Keighley and district.

“Many young people are on apprenticeships or are unemployed, and that makes it difficult for them to afford to come to Cougar Park on a regular basis.

“With the new Young Person pass we’ve made it possible for them to see each match for a very reasonable £7 or buy a season ticket at the concessionary rate.

“The Cougars are conscious that these are not easy times for young people and we want to give them every opportunity to see the Cougars playing in the Co-operative Championship.

“As a club we try to appeal to as many people as possible and the Young Person’s Pass is our way of reaching out to a section of the community that is not covered by many of the advantages offered to full-time students”.

She added: “We believe that this is another first for the Cougars as we haven’t heard of any other sports organisation who has offered this kind of facility to young people”.

The young people have the option about how they use the new style pass. They can either, buy a pass for £50 before December 18 and use it as a season ticket – it will cost £70 after December 18 – or produce it at the turnstile for each game and pay £7 per game. 

Young People can obtain their pass by taking proof of their age and a passport-style photograph to the Cougar’s Office at Cougar Park.
