The Co-operative Rugby League Conference, which is on the verge of an exciting announcement about its structure for the 2010 Premier and Regional divisions, is celebrating the latest call up to Super League from within its ranks.

On Saturday, when Harlequins RL face Wakefield Wildcats at the Stoop, 20 year old back rower Ben Bolger will make his debut for the home club.

A native of Chingford in Essex, he began playing the code aged 13 as a stand off with Conference outfit St Albans Centurions, tasting success with consecutive youth championships in the area and coming through the RFL regional talent programme as a result.

Picked up by Harlequins Foundation Academy side at under 16, he was their Reserve Grade Player of the Year in 2009.

There was more good news for the Conference on Wednesday night when Greenwich Admirals’ Gary Sergeant played for the England Community Lions under 18s against Wales.
