Winger Pryce makes Hunslet move
Hunslet have swooped for former Castleford and Wakefield winger Waine Pryce.
Pryce, 28, has been without a club since leaving Featherstone at the end of last season and links up with the Championship 1 side after scoring 24 tries in 45 appearances for Rovers in the past two years.
The Hawks fought off competition from York City Knights for Pryce’s signature, and Director of Rugby Darren Williams said: “We were not actively looking to add to the squad but when we were approached regarding Waine’s availability the temptation was just too good to resist.”
“It’s not everyday that you get the opportunity to sign an international who possesses the finishing prowess that Wayne has, obviously he is vastly experienced and has pace to burn and in my opinion could still cut it in Super League.”
Pryce made five appearances for England at the peak of his career in 2002/03.
Pryce said: “I would like to thank Hunslet for giving me the opportunity to get back in the game, I know alot of the current squad at the club and certainly believe they should be playing in the Championship next season with the calibre of players available at South Leeds this terms.”
