Danny Addy makes his home debut for Dewsbury after impressing in last week’s narrow defeat at Barrow Raiders.

Rams coach Warren Jowitt said: “He’s a young kid but you can tell he’s going to be a Super League player, without any doubt.”

Only Gary Broadbent’s 75th-minute try ensured Barrow got the better of Jowitt’s men on Saturday, and the Dewsbury coach believes his squad are coming to terms with the demands of the Co-operative Championship.

“The boys played really well and I’m very proud of them,” said Jowitt.

“We just had a couple of lapses of concentration, but if you take those out then we’d have won the game. It’s been a hard run for us. We haven’t had it easy for day one.

“We’ve done it tough and we’ve picked up a lot of injuries, but the lads that are in there are now starting to get to grips with things and turn the corner.”

None of the Rams’ injured players are back in contention this week, while Leigh have no new injury problems.

Steve Nash is nearing a return to action after recovering from a shoulder operation.

Centurions’ assistant coach Paul Rowley said: “The challenge for us is to keep progressing and to keep backing up what we’ve been doing each week.

“It’s a different pressure from last year, when the pressure was on us just to get a win. Now we’ve got to maintain what we’re doing and be consistent with it. We don’t want to slip up anywhere from being not being prepared properly.”

He added: “We played Dewsbury in the Northern Rail Cup, but we’re expecting to face a totally different side. They’ve got a narrow pitch, which will probably mean it will be a physical encounter, and they’re coming off a good display at Barrow.”
