NRL announces six venues until round nine
The ARL Commission has announced the six venues that will be used when the NRL gets back underway on May 28.
Bankwest Stadium, Campbelltown Stadium, Central Coast Stadium, Suncorp Stadium, QCB Stadium and AAMI Park will be used during Phase 1 when the competition resumes until round nine.
Parramatta, Canterbury, South Sydney, Cronulla and Sydney Roosters will call Bankwest Stadium home for the near future, while St George Illawarra, Wests, Penrith and Canberra will play at Campbelltown Stadium.
Newcastle, New Zealand Warriors and Manly will be based at the Central Cost Stadium.
Three venues outside of New South Wales will also be used – Suncorp Stadium (Brisbane and Gold Coast), Queensland Country Bank Stadium (North Queensland) and AAMI Park (Melbourne).
Bankwest Stadium – Eels, Bulldogs, Rabbitohs, Sharks, Roosters
Campbelltown Stadium – Dragons, Tigers, Panthers, Raiders
Central Coast Stadium – Knights, Warriors, Sea Eagles
Suncorp Stadium – Broncos, Titans
QCB Stadium – Cowboys
AAMI Park – Storm
NRL interim chief executive Andrew Abdo said: “The competition will begin with a consolidated approach to venues.
“Each venue requires customised infrastructure to meet our strict biosecurity requirements.
“We’ve adopted a phased approach for venues should restrictions be eased in the future.
“We’ve chosen three consolidated venues for clubs in and around Sydney to ensure there are no double headers at venues and in different parts of the region to meet the geographical challenges we face.”
