Bryson Goodwin and Nene Macdonald join Cronulla
Cronulla have signed outside-backs Bryson Goodwin and Nene Macdonald with immediate effect.
Centre Goodwin has joined the Sharks for the rest of the 2020 season after being granted a release by South Sydney.
The 34-year-old has made 176 NRL appearances for Cronulla, Canterbury and South Sydney. He spent two seasons in Super League with Warrington in 2018-19, scoring 26 tries in 61 games for the Wolves. Goodwin has also earned 10 caps for New Zealand.
Macdonald has signed a two-year deal with the Sharks. He has earned nine caps for Papua New Guinea on the international stage.
The 26-year-old winger or centre has played 96 games in the NRL for Sydney Roosters, Gold Coast, St George Illawarra and North Queensland.
Cronulla coach John Morris said: “Nene has shown some really good signs over the last few months.
“He’s getting his life back in order, he’s training really hard, he’s in really good nick.
“We all know the talent that he has and he’ll bring much-needed experience as well as a different body shape to our team.
“I’m looking forward to getting him match fit and for him to add some depth to our backline.”
