Featherstone re-sign trio

Championship leaders Featherstone have handed new deals to three of their table topping squad.

Captain Stuart Dickens, impact half-back Andy Kain and back-rower Jon Grayshon have all committed themselves to the club for next season and beyond.

Dickens, who has played in Super League for Salford, said: “The coaching staff are great, they are helping me to develop and improve my game, the club is going really well and we are now in a position to challenge for trophies every year. I love playing for this club and wouldn’t want to be playing anywhere else.”

Kain has fallen behind Liam Finn and Kyle Briggs in the pecking order this season, but coach Daryl Powell has found a successful way of utilising the former Castleford man off the bench.

Kain added: “We have a really strong squad which the club has invested in each year, on and off the park we get looked after and I’d like to help the club push for a Super League slot because these fans deserve to be in Super League.”

Featherstone’s only chance of being able to apply for a licence is if they appear in the Grand Final this season, having missed out last season and being eliminated in the group stages of this year’s Northern Rail Cup.
