Woods looking to do things right

Steve Lewis is back in contention for York after playing in last week’s reserves fixture.

Alex Benson is suspended, but Knights coach Dave Woods could give a debut to 20-year-old Ben Parkinson, a prop who has joined the club from Leeds Rhinos.

Brett Waller is still in a knee brace. He will see a doctor next week in an effort to get a timetable for his recovery.

Woods said: “From our point of view, we’re entirely focused on our performances.

“We didn’t play real smart against Hunslet and we still pushed them all the way.

“If we get things right then we’ll be OK and we don’t have to worry about the opposition.”

Liam Finch and Lee Dutton could return for Town, but Ryan Campbell (ankle ligaments) is unavailable and Ruairi McGoff has returned to Barrow.

Workington joint coach Gary Charlton said: “It’s a six pointer this week; there’ll be a lot riding on it.

“I’m expecting two very committed teams out there. We’ll try to get a DVD of them since Dave Woods took over, and from that we’ll hopefully be able to come up with a game-plan that will get us the points.”
