Panthers aim to earn back deducted points

Blackpool coach Martin Crompton could give a debut to new signing Eddie Vaughan, a full-back who has joined the club from Salford’s academy squad.

Crompton said: “I spoke to Alan Hunte, and he rates him very highly. I’ve not got the biggest of squads, so it’s a chance to see how he goes with potential for a contract next year.”

Panthers were deducted 10 points on Wednesday night after being found guilty of registration and salary cap breaches.

But Crompton insisted: “I think the RFL have been very fair with us.

“We put our evidence to them and we’ve not hidden anything from them, and I think they’ve taken that into account.

“I’m now pretty confident John Chadwick will be able to confirm something concrete over the forthcoming weeks that will give us a lot more stability.”

On the Skolars, Crompton added: “They’ve turned the corner in a bit in the last couple of weeks, but we’ve got to go about our business as normal and try to get the three points. It’s an important game for us.”

James Simon and Matt Thomas could return for London, but Dave Arnott (work commitments) is ruled out along with Nico Flanagan and Matt Carter.

London coach James Massara said: “We know it’s going to be a very tough day. We know all about Blackpool’s quality.”
