Crusaders needed a late try from Rhys Hanbury to give them victory as they installed themselves into the engage Super League play-offs ahead of Castleford Tigers.

Visitors Harlequins looked to have had the game sewn up at 12-4 with ten minutes of the game remaining but an interception try from Jason Chan along with Hanbury’s late score ensured the points stayed in Wales.

It was Brian McDermott’s men who grabbed an early advantage in what was a close game. Jamie O’Callaghan crossed the whitewash after 13 mins although Danny Orr missed the conversion.

However, the home side hit back four minutes later through Hanbury’s first of the night to square matters.

Speedy full-back Ben Jones-Bishop then broke from his own half to score a superb individual effort and a Danny Orr penalty ensured ‘Quins gunned in a victory that would lift them off the bottom.

But an interception try from Jason Chan from an Orr pass ensured a tense finish and Hanbury grabbed the headlines with his second of the night.
