Hull release Berrigan
Hull FC have agreed an early release with Shaun Berrigan from the final year of his contract and he has now left the club.
Berrigan, 32, is now expected to sign a deal with a club in the NRL, marking an end to a three-year spell at the KC Stadium.
Hull Chief Executive James Rule said: “On behalf of the Directors, staff, coaches, players and fans, I would like to thank Shaun for his contribution to Hull FC and wish him and his family the best of luck for the future.”
Berrigan scored 12 tries in 74 appearances for the Airlie Birds after arriving from Brisbane for the 2008 season. During his time with the Broncos, Berrigan racked up 185 appearances, playing in a range of positions including hooker, halfback and centre.
He said: “I have loved my time at Hull FC and leave with many happy memories and friendships.
“After a tough year personally in terms of injuries and the passing of my Father earlier this year, I want to move closer to my Mum and family and I’m looking forward to spending more time with them.”
