Tom Spencer re-signs with Leigh

Leigh have announced the re-signing of forward Tom Spencer on a one-year deal.

Spencer, 29, has played more than 100 games for Leigh and is currently in his second permanent spell with the club having re-joined from London Broncos in 2019.

He said: “I feel we had started to head in the right direction last season and was hopeful that 2020 was going to be another breakthrough year.

“Hopefully what has happened this year will only prove to be a delay in our progress and I’m happy to still be part of John Duffy’s plans. It has been great at the club since John took over and he has worked hard on creating the correct culture and environment for the players.

“It will be difficult to carry on where we left off and I’m sure a lot of other clubs have used it as an opportunity to reset things and look to improve. But I am confident we can if we don’t leave any stone unturned and get stuck in with the same attitude we showed at the start of the year.”
