Scotland international Sam Luckley joins Ottawa Aces
Ottawa Aces have announced the signing of Scotland international Sam Luckley.
Luckley, 24, has been at Newcastle Thunder since 2016 and becomes Ottawa’s 11th signing ahead of the 2021 League 1 season.
The back-rower represented Scotland Under-19s before making his full international debut in 2018, and featured in both of the Bravehearts’ victories over Serbia and Greece this autumn as they qualified for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup.
Head coach Laurent Frayssinous said: “Sam has been a real standout regarding his performances with his previous club for the last few years now.
“He is a hard worker, eager to learn, eager to improve and he’s got all the abilities to become one of the best front rows at the highest level in the future.”
Very pleased to announce I’ll be joining @ottawaaces next season!! Would like to thank all the players, fans and staff who have made my time at @ThunderRugby so enjoyable. I can’t wait to meet the rest of the squad aswell as getting out to Ottawa and meeting all the fans. 🇨🇦 🏉 https://t.co/bukdSvMu7p
