CC Preview: Keighley v Toulouse
Saturday March 5th – 6.00pm
These two sides met in the opening rounds of the Northern Rail Cup in a game Toulouse won 36-22 but Cougars coach Jason Demetriou is confident that the result this weekend will be in the favour of his side.
“It’s a tough introduction to the Challenge Cup for us,” said Demetriou. “But these are the sort of games that we all want to play in and it’s perfect preparation for us going into the start of the Championship One season next week as well.
“We played Toulouse a few weeks ago and it was a close game and we’re confident that we have learned from that and that we’ll be able to improve and hopefully get the right result this time around. They’re a solid unit and their half-backs, especially Josh Lewis, are key in their attack so we know what we need to do to stifle their attack and if we can perform then I’m confident we can get the result.
“I’ve had a good look at all the players in our opening games and I’ll be putting my strongest 17 on the field for this game to ensure we can get the win.”
