Seven Super League players charged

Seven players will appear before the RFL Disciplinary Committee on Tuesday afternoon after being charged with offences committed during last weekend’s Engage Super League Round 5 fixtures.

The seven include four from the Wigan Warriors v Hull FC match at DW Stadium on Sunday afternoon: Joel Tomkins and Sam Tomkins of Wigan and Hull’s Kirk Yeaman and Lee Radford.

Joel Tomkins has been charged with the Grade B offence of recklessly striking an opponent in the 66th minute, an incident which led to his dismissal. Sam Tomkins has been charged with the Grade B offence of running in and punching in the 65th minute.

Yeaman was also charged with the Grade B offence of fighting in the 66th minute whilst Radford is charged with the Grade B offence of making dangerous contact with Thomas Leuluai in the 61st minute.

Ray Cashmere of Salford City Reds has been charged with the Grade A offence of punching Brent Webb of Leeds Rhinos in the 10th minute at Headingley Carnegie Stadium on Friday night.

Crusaders player Peter Lupton will answer a charge of making a Grade A high tackle on Jake Webster of Hull Kingston Rovers in the 54th minute.

Harlequins RL forward Chris Bailey has been charged with the Grade B offence of making dangerous contact with Tony Puletua of St Helens in the 74th minute of last Friday’s match at Widnes.

Warrington Wolves prop Garreth Carvell was issued with a formal caution for making dangerous contact with Julien Rinaldi of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in the 18th minute whilst Wakefield’s Michael Korkidas was cautioned for a grapple tackle on Warrington second row Ben Westwood in the 75th minute of the same match.
