Nanyn enters RFL top ten
Mick Nanyn is officially one of the top ten prolific Rugby League point scorers of all time.
The 28 year old centre had scored 3,274 points prior to today’s game between Leigh and Batley and needed just five points to overhaul former Yorkshire, Leigh, Dewsbury and Great Britain fullback Jimmy Ledgard.
He passed the great Ledgard with a 29th minute conversion to a Jamie Ellis try and now has 3,282 career points to his name.
Nanyn’s four goals take him to 65 for the season and he has also added eight tries in 12 games for 162 points so far, although he is a doubt for Friday’s Carnegie Challenge Cup game between Leigh and Catalan after limping off in the 53rd minute of the Centurions 36-12 success over Batley.
